The first-ever Liv. Dubai Schools Games Archery Championships kicked off on November 22, 2022, with 29 competitors from 16 schools in attendance. The competition was held at the Dubai Club For People of Determination, which has long served as the venue for archery competitions in the United Arab Emirates. The club has hosted numerous competitions for the same sport, and the Dubai Sports Council has recognised its contributions and accomplishments by awarding it the distinction of Distinguished Club in the Sports Excellence Award.
Together with UAE Archery Federation, the most knowledgeable and dependable organisation in the world of archery in Dubai, who provided officials that made the event a huge success as a first time, and Arrow Sport Academy, who shared their technical know-how and set the standards for the competition, the event would not have been possible without their guidance and support.
Mr. Bader Hareb from the Dubai Sports Council and Mr. Adel Al Hammadi from the UAE Archery Federation were in attendance, and the archers had the honour of receiving their medals from two of the most prestigious members of their respective organisations and of Dubai. Each participant in the first Liv.Dubai Schools Games Archery Championships received a participation certificate, and medals were awarded to the top individual competitors.
The tournament's attendance was a huge surprise and it's encouraging to see how quickly Dubai's archery scene is expanding. It became clear during the Archery Championships that there is a lot of untapped talent that is only waiting to be recognised and that, in the near future, might establish themselves as one of the top archers not only in Dubai but also possibly in the International Arena.
