The Midea Dubai Schools Games Laser Run, held on 31 January 2026 at the GEMS School of Research & Science, marked another important step in the rise of Laser Run as a developing sport in the UAE. Organised in partnership with the UAE Modern Pentathlon Federation, the event brought together a diverse group of young athletes who are helping shape the future of this fast‑emerging discipline.

Laser Run — a combination of short‑distance running and precision laser‑pistol shooting — has been steadily gaining traction among school-aged competitors. Its accessible format and exciting pace have made it especially appealing to younger participants, with this year’s event featuring a healthy mix of Emirati students and children from various nationalities across Dubai’s school community.
